My Favourite Skincare Products - 2020

Hi all!

So, it’s been a while since I’ve done a beauty-type post.
During lockdown, I really thought about ways that I could include a skincare routine. I’ve never been one to stick to skincare, purely because I have acne prone skin. I’ve had dreadful skin since I was about 10 years old and I’ve tried all sorts of lotions and potions. It’s taken me a long time to feel confident enough to write about my skin but I thought I’d post about what products that I’ve found that finally work well!

During lockdown

I was convinced that I would still be doing my full face of make up every, single day. In all honesty, I have still been doing my make up, but my full face now includes different products and I’ve even ditched foundation – crazy, right?!

In all seriousness, ditching foundation probably doesn’t sound like that much of a big deal. However, I used to hide my bad skin behind heavy make-up, which probably made my skin worse but hey, it’s a vicious cycle.

Not being able to see people has helped my confidence with my skin, in that I’m not worried about what people are thinking about the way my skin looks. I’m in my mid-twenties. What adult wants to have acne at my age? It’s gross. However, after not using any foundation, my skin has been able to breathe!

I was so conscious at finding products to help my skin and to keep my skin clean.

Problem skin

So, my skin can be super oily, but it can also get really dry around any breakouts. I find certain times of the month, my skin is worse, so I’ll blame the hormones. However, having a good skincare routine has massively helped with any spots and blemishes and has helped get that oiliness under control a bit more.

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Cleanser

This was the very first product by Nip+Fab that I’d ever tried. Glycolic acid helps to keep skin clean and can smooth the appearance of wrinkles – who’d have known?!

I do love this cleanser though. It’s part of my daily routine and it just leaves my skin feeling so fresh. It smells amazing and feels so smooth when it goes on. I love it!

After trying this and loving it, I decided to buy some more Nip+Fab products, so they now make up the bulk of my skincare!

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow Daily 2%

This is fairly new to my skincare regime, but I really wanted to get a tonic to go with my cleanser, so this seemed perfect as it’s ok to use daily.

After using this, I can see that it minimises the look of my pores (unfortunately, I suffer with big pores too, wah!) and again smells amazing. My skin looks so glows after using this too. It’s just fab!

Post-glycolic Fix Moisturiser SPF 30

Once I’ve cleansed and toned my face, I stick some of this post-glycolic fix moisturiser on. It’s honestly so lovely. It works really well with the other products and doesn’t make me feel oily at all.

I used to hide away from moisturiser, purely because my skin is so oily without it. However, adding it to my skincare routine has been a game changer.

My only issue with this is that the tube is pretty small, however you don’t need loads at a time as it spreads really nicely.

Salicylic Fix Serum Extreme 2%

Salicylic acid is really good for unclogging pores and to encourage skin cell renewal. It’s also perfect for problem skin, like mine.

Before I bought this product, I contacted Nip+Fab to see if I could combine both the Glycolic Acid and the Salicylic Acid range, as I wasn’t sure about what acids I could mix on my face. I didn’t want to send my skin into overdrive, so I’m glad I asked. Their support team were super informative and suggested that this could be a fab product to add in with my existing skincare products.

I love putting this on my face. I only use one small pumps worth at night, before I go to bed. It leaves my skin feeling and looking so glowy and I’ve noticed a big difference in my skin appearance in the mornings.

Glycolic Fix Scrub

Going back to the Glycolic Fix products, I love this scrub. I’ve never been one for exfoliators but this one is just heavenly. It smells amazing and you only need a small amount to spread over your face, so it lasts for ages!

I’ve actually run out of this and haven’t been able to get it for a while as it’s been out of stock, but I can’t wait to buy more!

Boots Biodegradable Cucumber Cleansing Wipes

I love these wipes. I have never got along with face wipes, other than these. They are my absolute go to and I use one every day. I just love them. They are super affordable from boots (£1 per pack!*) and even better that they’re biodegradable.

Boots Glow Eye Cream

This is a very recent purchase. I’m now at the age where I use an eye cream twice daily, ha!
In all honesty though, this was a total bargain and a purchase on a whim. I’m really glad I bought it though as it’s brilliant!

It goes on so smoothly and makes my under eye area so much more hydrated and bright. I’m definitely going to be buying this again.

So, there we have it. This is my skincare routine that has been working really well. I’m really chuffed with how my skin is looking and it’s made me feel so much more confident!

Have you used any of these products before? What are your favourites?
