Becoming Mumsy

My journey through motherhood and everything in between.

We're Going To Walt Disney World...As A Family!

Welcome back!

So, if you've been following me on my Instagram, you'll know that we have booked to go to Disneyworld this year!

We (I) am so excited, and can't wait to return to my favourite place. What feels even more magical about this time is that we get to take Edith there with us for her first time (I'll definitely be grabbing her a 1st visit pin!).

What made us book?

We're probably crazy, but it'll be an experience for sure. The last time Max and I visited WDW was way back in Summer 2015, which is just too long ago for me. Anyone that has been on a magical Disney holiday, will know that the Disney Blues kick in almost as quickly as leaving the parks, if not feeling a little bit blue beforehand. So, waiting almost 4 years is just too long.

As well as the time between our last visit, I was conscious that Edith will not remember our trip, whether she be 20 months, or 4/5, and I was not prepared to wait until she was older before we go for the first time together.

How old will Edith be?

As I say, Edith will be 20 months old when we go, which to me is perfect (I'm not so sure about the flight!), however, it's good timing in that we haven't had to pay for her to go on holiday as under 2's do not require tickets or a seat on the plane (unless you want to book one).

I won't lie and say that I'm not a bit nervous for the plane journey, with a 20 month old on our laps, but I'm sure it will be worth it (let's just hope she's not one of those crying kids on the plane!).

When are we going?

We are off in November and crossing into December, which means we are there for my birthday! It will be the first time that Max and I have been not in the middle of summer! I'm excited to see all of the Christmas decorations in the parks which will be a completely different experience for us.

What do we need to do before we go?

Of course, we (I) will be plan, plan, planning. Not too much though as I think it can spoil a holiday. I do like to plan certain rides or restaurants though.

With staying at Disney, we are allowed to book our fast passes up to 60 days in advance, which is a result. They can be booked via the My Disney Experience app, which we are familiar with (I never deleted it after our last trip!).

We also need to make sure that we have our ESTAs booked, which I am yet to do! Other than that, it will just be the packing that needs to be done, which I have no idea what we will take as the weather seems to be a mixed back at that time of year!

Have you been to Walt Disney World with a young child?

Thanks, lovelies.

A.x
