Becoming Mumsy

My journey through motherhood and everything in between.

Last minute baby haul!

As my due date approaches, I realised that I still had a couple of items that I could do with picking up. So, much to Max's dismay, I dragged him out to the shops to see if we could pick up some of the last minute bits and bobs.

First things first, let me just point out that I love baby shopping. I used to like going shopping anyway, but baby shopping is a whole new level of enjoyment. So, during my pregnancy, I have been in my absolute element.

Advice

One of my good friends recommended that I purchase a manual breast pump. Now, I already purchased the Medala Swing Electric Breast Pump, but she recommended that I buy a manual one just for the hospital as they are obviously much quieter, and will save me having to hand express if things don't go directly to plan. I figured that it couldn't hurt to try one so off we went into Mothercare for a good deal.

I ended up purchasing the Tommee Tippee Closer To Nature Manual Breast Pump. I'd read some good reviews on it, and it was half price, due to Mothercare having a Baby and Toddler Event on, so it made the pump an absolute steal!

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the pump came with a microwavable steriliser box, as well as some breast pads. Result!

 Support

After a few minutes browsing, I made my way into the clothing section of the store and found some nursing bras in the sale. Luckily, they were in my size, as well as in the next size up, so I thought I'd buy those too, especially when they were so cheap!

In terms of breast support, I also purchased some Nipple Shields. Now, I know how glamorous this blog post is because I'm, so far, referencing lots of products to help my (hopefully successful) breastfeeding journey.
Anyway, in terms of Nipple Shields, I bought the Medala ones, as again, I'd been recommended this particular brand. I'll have to update with how I (and baby) get on with them!

Bath-time!

I also had a look online to see if I could find a bath support for baby. My intention was for us to take it in turns to bathe with her, but realistically, I'm not sure we will want to do it all of the time. There will, of course, be times when we want to, but I'd rather her be supported in the bath, for the times that we don't.

So, I purchased the Angelcare Bath Support. Again, I'd read good reviews, and had been told good things about this particular brand, and I found it for the right price so obviously, I couldn't resist!

Keep it trim

Lastly, we finally bought a nail care kit for baby. I'd been looking for ages, but just hadn't got around to it. Alas, we finally have one. We ended up going for Mothercare's own nail care kit, which has lots of useful bits and bobs in there!

Anyway, that's our last minute haul! Now, all we have to do is wait for the big day!

Thanks, lovelies.
